We're a coffee shop, we're a bike shop, we're a community.

  1. Mexican Alleycat Birthday Bash

We’re as surprised as the next person to still be here after a year. It’s been a long old road, but it really does feel good to be going stronger than ever.

We’ve both had a whole heap of fun, met some fantastic people and made some great friends along the way.

To celebrate our first birthday, this month’s alleycat will have a Mexican theme! Get togged up in your best Luchador gear or just slip on a poncho and sombrero and join us this Saturday 11th May for an alleycat and a bit of a party afterwards!

As always, meet at Chapeau from 7:30, ready to roll out at 8pm sharp. Entry is £3, and please bring lights and a lock; helmets are also preferable!

    RSVP on Facebook

  2. April Alleycat - This Saturday!

    image

Join us this Saturday 20th for our April Alleycat ride!

Meet at Chapeau for registration from 7:30, ready to roll out at 8:00 sharp. Entry is £3.

    RSVP on Facebook

We’ll be meeting back at Chapeau once we’re done for a few drinks, the usual chat and some fantastic prizes.

Lights and locks are essential, and helmets are strongly advised.

An alleycat is a fast paced puzzle/checkpoint ride. Riders are given a sheet of clues and questions and a map of the town, and must answer as many of the questions correctly as possible, as quickly as possible..

The winner is the person who makes it back to the finishing post with the most answers right. If two people have the same amount of correct answers, the one who makes it back first is the winner.

    See you there, Chapeau!

  3. February Cyclo Sportive with VC Revolution

Sunday 24th February sees the 2013 edition of VC Revolution’s annual Cyclo Sportive rolling out from even HQ and into the wilds of Essex/Suffolk borders!

Always a popular fixture on the spring calendar, there will be a 28 or a 50 mile route available, with bronze, silver and gold awards for the 50 miler awarded to those who can keep pace.

Entry is an absolute bargain at a fiver, especially as it includes post-ride refreshments.

The great news is that in the very near future we’ll be offering a full selection of bike servicing options, including repairs, refurbs and bespoke builds.

  7. Chapeau’s first Alleycat of 2013

Guest item by Bike Matron Alex

OK cycling boys and girls. Dust off your bike, check the brakes, pump up the tyres. It’s time to roll out for another infamous Chapeau! Alleycat.

An alleycat is a fast paced puzzle/checkpoint ride. Riders are given a sheet of clues and questions and a map of the town, and must answer as many of the questions correctly as possible, as quickly as possible..

We’re parking up outside firstsite on Saturday 12th January. Registration is from 7:30pm, and the ride starts at 8pm sharp. It’s just £3 for entry and that entitles you to win a some pretty cool bike stuff. Plus there are prizes on offer for different categories of riders and bikes, so it doesn’t matter what bike you’re riding or whether you’re an experienced rider or just starting out, everyone’s welcome. It’s the joy of the ride. Chapeau! if you will.

The winner is the person who makes it back to the finishing post with the most answers right. If two people have the same amount of correct answers, the one who makes it back first is the winner. But as the last alleycat showed, the guy who came in last answered the most questions correctly and was actually the winner!

Bring lights and a lock. It’s dark out there, and I don’t want to shout at you for not being seen. If you’ve never been before, I’ll be there on my white fixie. It’s a bit like a pub quiz and a treasure hunt combined, but you’re on your bike. Win win in my eyes. Get RSVP-ing on facebook OK.
